It’s named the EZPlace Cable Rail because they can be secured directly to the column form interior, instead of damaging the forms using through bolts. Surface mounted barrier cable anchors are used when through-column anchoring is not possible, or not desired. Such as when the column stressing locations will be covered by walls or other obstructions that will prevent later access to the terminal anchors. Tensioning of barrier cables from the interior is also safer and easier than stressing cables from the exterior using a high-lift or scaffolding. Anchors will also always remain accessible for maintenance or repair. Our Cable Rail inserts are manufactured to fit all standard ¾” x 10 UNC threaded barrier cable anchors and have been independently tested to exceed a static load of 46 kips. The EZ Place Cable Rail has been engineered and independently tested in reinforced concrete samples per ASTM E488 to develop an 88.1 kip ultimate tensile strength for a 3 vehicular cable installation (29.4 kips per each cable insert).
